This rural complex is provided with 5 caves: Cueva el Cerezo (2 people), Cueva el Olivo (4people), Cueva la Chumbera (4 people), Cueva los Jazmines (6/8 people) and Cueva el Granado (6 people). We are a small family business which grew out of the desire to launch a business in a small orchard inherited from our parents next to the old Venta Margarita, located between the villages of Benalúa and Fonelas. It is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the nature because of the charm and exclusivity of the area, its incomparable views picturesque and ancient caves. The origin of the name, La Chumbera, goes back to the fifties, when Francisco Urendes says that then, the plant called chumbera was along half of the hill, and of which is preserved in part the west facade. Cuevas la Chumbera staff commit to their customers within the culture of welfare to ensure an organization of your stay as comfortable as possible, attending to and carrying out all their requests. Cuevas la Chumbera are fully restored an equipped so they do not miss the smallest detail, without breaking with the environment in which they find themselves. We measure every detail for the customer enjoying peace and tranquillity while living in a real cave.

Placed in full nature opposite to Sierra Nevada, our caves keep an average temperature of 18 degrees, all the year round. Our guests will enjoy the magnificent countryside we are surrounded by. Guadix is in an altiplane surrounded with mountains, offering a wide diversity of landscapes and natural spaces: from the high mountain of Sierra Nevada to the arid zones of the bad-lands. The strategic position of Guadix's Region does of it an ideal place to travel to other nearby zones. The beaches of Almeria and of the Nature reserve Gata-Níjar's Saw are to only 120 km and to them it is possible to go by road in public and private transport or by train. The city of Granada is 60 km away from Guadix, so The Alhambra´s city is in less than one hour by private or public transport, with very frequent services of trains or buses. Approximately 30 km beyond Granada we find the ski resort of Sierra Nevada, one of the most important of Spain.
