Sit yourself down under the cork-oaks, take a stroll in the olive-grove, enjoy breakfast under the vines. Ideal if you like walking, biking, good food or just lying in the shade of cork-oaks.

In the thinly inhabited province of Alentejo, 10 kilometres to the south of Grândola, lies the little village of Santa Margarida da Serra. A friendly mountain-village with low, white plastered cottages, surrounded by endless slopes strewn with thousands of cork-oaks. It is situated near the Atlantic coast, the Costa Azul, with its tranquil seaside resorts like Melides and Lagoa de Santo André. You reach Santa Margarida by the A2 motorway from Lisbon airport in about an hour. To the North: you are just over one hour away from Lisbon. Portugal’s capital is well worth a visit. Lots of thing to do and see, much more than we can tell you in brief, but you will find ample information in your sitting-room. To the south: do not forget to visit some of the fishing-villages, like Sines for instance. The manycoloured fishing-boats, the lively quays, the fishmongers, all so typical of the Portuguese coast. It goes without saying that here you find a wide choice of seafood in the many restaurants.

Two bedrooms One with double bed, the other with two single beds. Crib for baby is available. The kitchen Fitted with all modern conveniences, like big fridge, gas-cooker, microwave-oven and coffee machine. The bathroom With a spacious shower, toilet, wash-hand basin with hot and cold running water. The sitting-room L-shaped, with living and dining-recess. Fitted with Satellite television and radio/CD-player. And free Internet connection. On winter evenings the wood-stove gives agreeable warmth. The big windows command a stately view towards the South and West.

Outside Area:The French windows give immediate access to the terraces, where you find garden-chairs and -table, reclining-chairs and equipment for a BBQ. From the southern terrace you have a view over the valley, where our goats pasture underneath the cork-oaks. When sitting on the other side of the guesthouse, in the shade of the vine-tendrils, you have a view of the olive-grove. Whether you prefer sun or shade, you will find it.
