Just above the coastal plain in the Aspres, foothills to the Pyrenees, we offer: relaxation by the pool – we’ll bring the cold drinks and food, jacuzzi spa, excellent hill-walking from the door, outstanding freedom for cyclists and mountain-bikers, maps, picnics and ideas provided, fresh local seasonal food served every day, with a selection of local wines and juices. There are 3 rooms, 2 doubles and a twin room, which can be adapted easily to be a single. One double is en suite, while the other double and twin share a spacious bathroom. All 3 rooms have doors out onto the terrace, giving each room separate secure access. This terrace and the area around the pool offer excellent opportunities for relaxing on chair or sun bed, in shade or sun. Meals can be taken al fresco in a number of places. Guests have commented on the wide variety of activities, all within easy reach. Choose from swimming, windsurfing, kayaking, climbing, hiking, canyoning, cycling and mountain-biking, tennis, golf, horse-riding and trekking. The ski slopes are just over an hour away, the beaches just 35 minutes. The southernmost part of France is the department of Pyrénées-Orientales. You have the choice of the Mediterranean coast with wide, clean sandy beaches or rocky coves, the dramatic Pyrénées and gentler foothills, historic sites and cultural treats, the vibrant historic city of Perpignan, and peaceful countryside with vineyards and orchards. Or visit Spain just 30 minutes away.

The hills are laced with lanes and tracks for walking, cycling, riding, jogging, picnicking etc and are accessible to all, whatever your mode of transport. The spectacular beaches of the Mediterranean are a 35 minute drive. There are the long, clean, gently-shelving, golden beaches of Canet Plage, St Cyprien and Argeles-sur-mer, with marinas of beautiful sailing craft where you can sail, wind-surf, water-ski, scuba-dive, take bay-cruises etc. To the south, a little further, are enchanting coves where the ‘toes’ of the Pyrenees stretch down into the blue waters of the sea and create pretty, natural bays, used by fishermen for centuries. Here you will find Collioure with its lighthouse, royal summer palace, fort, markets and atmospheric waters-edge cafés; Port Vendres, a larger port where passenger ships dock and Banyuls-sur-mer, famous for its name-sake aperitif, honey-golden, fortified wine. "La pantoufle verte" B&B facilities consist of 3 rooms, 2 doubles and a twin room. One double is en suite, while the other double and twin share a spacious shower room and can form a family suite. All 3 rooms have lockable french windows (doors) out onto the terrace, giving each room separate secure access. As a B&B we do not offer kitchen/self catering facilities to our guests but will help with baby meals. The summer kitchen by the pool has a guest refridgerator, and we are happy to help with "picnics" by the pool.

Outside Area:"La pantoufle verte" stands in its own grounds of 25 acres of which approximately 4 acres around the house is cultivated as garden or parkland. Many trees - mimosa, cork oaks and almond trees provide shade during the hot summer. The pool area provides both shaded and unshaded seating areas, and meals are provided here in the summer. The whole area is criss-crossed with tracks open to both serious walkers and casual strollers.
