Summary of this Taditional breton cottage nr Mont Saint Michel in France.
On the Brittany-Normandy border, 'Le Petit Lapin' is a traditional Breton cottage located on top of a hill in the small village of Sains, nine kilometres from the famous medieval site of Mont Saint Michel. Renovated and furnished to a very high standard, this small self-catering holiday cottage sleeping 2-4 people has a lovely view over the Couesnon Valley to the south.
The village's large playing field and outdoor basketball court are a short walk from the cottage; there is also a lake (for fishing, with picnic tables) a kilometre away. The village of Pleine Fougères in Brittany is 2.5 kilometres to the south and has all amenities.
The lively market town of Pontorson, the gateway to Mont Saint Michel, is six kilometres to the east in Normandy, while Dol de Bretagne, with its ancient cathedral, is eight kilometres to the west in Brittany. Dol additionally boasts several fine restaurants and a public indoor swimming pool.
Sandy beaches are a thirty-minute drive from the house, as is dramatic cliff-walking near Cancale, a town famed for its oysters. Saint Malo, with its old walled town and a large aquarium, is also a thirty-minute drive, as is the beautiful medieval town of Dinan and the seaside town of Dinard.
Views:Gorgeous views from the terrace over the Couesnon river valley to the south.

Welcome to Le Petit Lapin
Location of this Brittany self catering cottage in Sains.
Ideally situated on a hill in Brittany near the border with Normandy, this self-catering holiday cottage offers lots to see and do.
This famous abbey only a ten-minute drive from 'Le Petit Lapin' has attracted visitors for centuries. Isolated on a granite island in a sheltered bay, this heritage site is also of particular environmental interest.
The coast here has the highest high tides and the lowest low tides in all of Europe and you can literally see the tide change by observing the water in the Couesnon River, which enters the bay just west of the peninsula connecting Mont Saint Michel with the mainland.
This charming town a ten-minute drive west of the cottage hosts a large market every Saturday morning. Its central street is lined with traditional houses often decorated with wood and its asymmetric granite cathedral was for centuries the ecclesiastical centre for all of Brittany .
The town has numerous restaurants and cafés to suit all tastes and budgets as well as a prehistoric menhir, a large upright stone whose precise significance remains a mystery.
Many visitors are attracted to Brittany because of its gorgeous seacoast, which offers stunning clean blue water for swimming and wide sandy beaches for sunbathing as well as dramatic cliff walking along the coastal path that stretches for hundreds of kilometres. The closest beaches to 'Le Petit Lapin' are only half an hour's drive to the east between Cancale and Saint Malo-- they are truly beautiful!
